How Atori Gifting Curated 1100 Diwali Gift Hampers for Seabird Logistics in Just 15 Days

On 14th October 2024, we received the confirmation email from Seabird Logistics for 1100 customized Diwali gift hampers. Diwali was on 1st November that year, which meant we had exactly 15 days to execute, assemble, pack, and deliver everything across multiple locations in India.

Exciting? Absolutely.Overwhelming? Also absolutely.

As a growing corporate gifting studio, opportunities like these are exciting not just because of the scale, but because of everything they represent. Weeks of follow-ups, multiple calls, sample approvals, and meetings had finally turned into a confirmed order. We had travelled from Pune to Mumbai carrying physical samples to ensure every detail was approved in person. Once the commitment was made, there was no room to step back — 1100 hampers - 15 days execution timeline. The expectations were set!

The Diwali hamper itself involved multiple customized elements. Each box included Boat Headphones, a Customized Glass Sipper, Ferrero Rocher Chocolates, and an 8-page company booklet highlighting Seabird Logistics’ achievements and festive wishes for their employees and associates.

The first challenge was getting the gift boxes manufactured within the timeline. Since it was peak festive season, most vendors were already overloaded with Diwali orders. After multiple rounds of coordination, we managed to secure a production slot and worked closely with our packaging partner to ensure the boxes were completed within seven days!

Simultaneously, the Boat headphones had to be sourced from our distributor partners in Mumbai. Every unit needed to be quality checked before assembly to ensure consistency across all 1100 hampers.

But the most time-intensive part of the project was the customized glass sipper sleeve.

The original sippers came with standard brown sleeves, which we replaced entirely with custom green sleeves designed specifically in Seabird Logistics’ brand colour. Each sleeve was handcrafted by our vendor, and the company logo was carefully embossed onto it. Once the sleeves arrived, every single sipper had to be manually reworked and assembled by hand.

At one point, we had close to 20 people in our warehouse working for over 12 hours a day to complete the process on time. The workspace was filled with cartons, branding materials, ribbon samples, sleeves, packaging rolls, and a constant back-and-forth of coordination calls — the kind of festive chaos every gifting company knows too well during Diwali season.

Just when we thought we were nearing completion, we received another request from the client — an 8-page printed booklet that needed to be individually assembled and tied together for every hamper. Since this was our first project with Seabird Logistics, we wanted to ensure the experience felt seamless from their end, so we took it on despite the already tight timeline.

Each booklet had to be printed, punched, aligned, tied with string manually, and packed into the boxes individually. It added another layer of execution, but by then the entire team had already entered problem-solving mode.

The final stage was logistics.

The 1100 hampers had to be delivered across 46 different office locations in India. Some locations required bulk shipments, while others needed individual deliveries. This meant segregating hampers city-wise, repacking cartons accordingly, labeling everything accurately, and coordinating continuously with courier and transport partners to ensure timely and safe delivery.

For five consecutive nights, our team worked until midnight making sure every carton left our warehouse in perfect condition.

And somehow, after weeks of coordination, countless calls, very little sleep, several vada pav lunches, and more cups of coffee than we can count, every single hamper reached its destination safely and without damage.

Looking back, the project pushed us in every possible way — operationally, creatively, and mentally. But it also reminded us why we love what we do.

Corporate gifting at this scale is never just about products inside a box. It is about execution, consistency, customization, timelines, communication, and ensuring that the recipient feels valued when the hamper finally reaches them.

Would we do it all over again? Without a doubt!

And while there are definitely things we would approach differently today, projects like these are what helped shape Atori Gifting into the studio we are continuing to build.
